That’s the time we expect all students to be at school.

We NEED them to be here on time!

Coyote Sighting

Last week, there was a coyote sighting just off school property.  The school immediately contacted Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Halifax Regional Police (HRP) who assessed the situation.  In light of this information, we adjusted our afternoon dismissal to ensure the safety of all students. We commend our students on their exceptional behavior in response to the concern.  We appreciate the support of all parents/guardians in the modified dismissal and will continue monitor the situation; but for now will continue with our regular routine.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Grade 9 Trip

Grade 9 students are selling tickets on a lovely Valentine's basket. Tickets are $2.00 each, or three for $5.00. The draw is February 12. Students will be selling tickets at the Sunnyside mall, Friday evening, January 20th and 27th, and Sunday afternoon, February 5th and 12th.

Winter Weather

Now that the cold weather has arrived, students are reminded to dress appropriately, according to the temperature and weather conditions. They are encouraged to wear or bring their snow pants, in the event that they wish to play in the snow. Decisions as to whether to go outside or stay inside, during non-instructional time, are made with consideration given to temperature, wind chill and weather conditions, etc..

School Boundary Review Interim Report

The meeting of the boundary review committee scheduled for tonight at Basinview Drive Community School has been postponed until Thurs., Jan. 26th because of the pending inclement weather.  The cancellation date (in case of bad weather on Jan. 26th) is Tues., Jan. 31st.  For more information on the boundary review, visit the HRSB website at www.hrsb.ns.ca
